Any information that this website collects from visitors will be used only to monitor and improve the reliability of this site, communicate and coordinate with volunteers, or to comply with Indiana's Campaign Finance laws.  We will never sell, swap, or give away visitor information to any other person or organization unless required to do so by law, as in the case of Campaign Finance disclosure compliance.

Personal Information Collected:  Any information that is collected and can be connected with a visitor's name, we consider 'personal information'.  We request personal information from visitors who want to receive our email Updates, or want to volunteer or donate to help the Campaign.

We do need email addresses in order to send our email Updates to a visitor who requests them.  Should the visitor want event information specific to where they live, we ask that visitors also provide the name of the City or Town and County in which they live.  We do not ask for the visitor's name.  The email Updates contain clear means to opt out of our email Update list.

If a visitor wants to volunteer to help the Campaign, we ask for name, address, email address, and phone number.  We use this information only for contacting and coordinating our volunteer effort.  This information will not be shared with any other organization or person, unless required to do so by law.

Indiana's Campaign Finance laws require that we collect certain personal information from those who donate to the Campaign.  This includes the donor's name, address, employer and occupation.  We also ask for the donor's email address, phone number so that we can contact them if necessary.  We are enlisting the services of PayPal for the actual collection of the donation because of their expertise in protecting sensitive personal information.  Once a donor has left our site, the PayPal privacy policy will be in operation (PayPal privacy policy).

General Information Collected:  Our website's statistical program collects information regarding the type of web browser a visitor is using (and the computer's type of operating system if the browser is set to provide such information), their Internet Service Provider, the webpage/website from which a visitor came to our site (if any), and the query used by a visitor (if any) in a search engine to find our site.  Once on our website, the program collects information regarding which pages were visited.  We use this information in an aggregated form to see how many visitors we have, which pages are more popular, and what websites are referring visitors to our site.

A visitor to our website need not have 'cookies' enabled on their browser unless they want to make a donation to the Campaign.  Cookies are tiny text files that are sent to the visitor's computer from a website.   Cookies must be enabled on our donation page so that PayPal knows which website a visitor came from and therefore to what account a donor wants to contribute.  The cookie does not contain any personal information.
